Assistant Manager Position

The Assistant Restaurant Manager joins our leadership team in leading the vision and ensuring that the company core values are implemented throughout all operations. Joining hands to move the Company forward is what we are all about.

General Expectations / Responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Manage and organize for Bookkeeper vendors’ invoices and bills.

  • Coordinate communication between front of the house and back of the house staff.

  • Assist in preparing shift schedules as needed by General Manager.

  • Supervise server and bar back staff and compliance with opening and closing procedures and provide assistance, as needed.

  • Coordinate and arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (training & SOPs).

  • Update Staff on Events, Customer Visits, Groups and New Beers.

  • Monitor and maintain compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.

  • Gather guests’ daily feedback.

  • Strong background with REVEL POS System and programing.

  • Perform weekly & monthly FOH inventory at Greenport location – with restocking as needed.

  • Monitor weekly Keg / Beer status and sign out sheets and order restocking deliveries as needed.

  • Insure that Tasting Room Cold Rooms, including sankeys and supply equipment are kept clean and organized.

  • Strong background with Untapped beer program and screen menus.

  • Strong familiarity with Web based and social media communication to insure accuracy.

  • Monitor FOH register drawer change status and insure preparedness for weekend on Thursday.

  • Coordinate and mange scheduling of busses and limo visits as allowed.

  • Update Specials Chalkboard as needed.

  • Update / re-stock flight sheets as needed.

  • Reconcile Registers at close of shifts.

  • Insure that Tip Moneys are properly divided and all forms are completed properly.

Cellar Person

OVERVIEW:

The Greenport Harbor Brewing is seeking a full-time cellar person to work in the day-to-day operations of our 2 brewery locations in Greenport and Peconic.

What You'll WORK ON:

  • CIP tanks, hoses and fittings

  • Beer transfers to/from tanks and barrels

  • Barrel prepping/cleaning/maintenance/tagging

  • Beer carbonation and keg filling

  • Filtration (centrifuge experience a plus)

  • Fruit/ingredient processing

  • General facility cleaning/maintenance

  • Packaging line operation

  • Record keeping

  • Sensory Evalution

What We're Looking For:

  • 1-3 years of experience in brewery, winery or other food/beverage production

  • Understanding of chemicals, gases, pressures and temperatures as related to cellar operations

  • Strong team leadership skills

  • Basic knowledge of sensory evaluation

  • Experience operating forklift and pallet jack

  • Knowledge of safety protocol in cellar work environment

  • Critical thinking, organization, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Forklift: 1 year (preferrred)

  • Brewery, winery: 1 year (preferred)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work on your feet for entire shift

Sales Representative

OVERVIEW:

The Greenport Harbor New York City Sales Representative will be responsible for selling and promoting Greenport Harbor beers throughout the 5 boroughs of New York City. Driving community interactions for the brand through numerous account promotions, retail sales calls, and events, while creating and maintaining genuine working relationships with retailers and wholesalers.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute fun and engaging brand interactions for our drinkers and customers through promotions and events

  • Utilize monthly reports to target territory goals

  • Maintain professional business relationships with core accounts

  • Execute and impact promotions at On and Off Premise locations

  • Must be able to practice Greenport Harbor selling process and selling skills

  • Must be able to find new business by identifying and prioritizing future opportunities for incremental volume and developing tactics to close identified opportunities with the distributor

  • Effectively communicate internally and externally

  • Deliver and manage activities under deadlines such as reporting market survey recaps

  • Lead and have strong working relationships by: establishing rapport with wholesaler reps and mid-level management; instilling commitment and enthusiasm for high levels of performance; working cooperatively with others across the Greenport Harbor organization

  • Must be current and fluent in market and competitors to include: Distribution and volume trends, Market share, Wholesaler network, Supplier network, and other data sources to evaluate Greenport Harbor business and make recommendations to retailers and distributors

  • Travel Required: market wide travel and light travel outside market

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends promotion our products through customer interactions

What We're Looking For:

  • Must have a High School diploma - Bachelors degree preferred

  • Some sales experience preferred

  • Craft beer knowledge and passion strongly preferred

Greenport Harbor Brand Ambassador

OVERVIEW:

The Greenport Harbor Brand Ambassador works autonomously and with our sales team to give customers exciting, educational, and successful sampling promotions. A high emphasis is placed on enthusiasm, confidence, personal responsibility, and commitment to sampling and educating customers on Greenport Harbor beers and culture. Events will include but are not limited to weeknights and a minimum of 3 weekends per month (Thursday, Friday,Saturday and Sundays).

What You'll Do: 

Loading and delivering promotional equipment/materials to event 

  • Must successfully set accounts up for impactful promotions using Greenport Harbor Point of Sale (POS) with integrity while at times serving as the onsite point of contact between Greenport Harbor and event partners/key accounts.

  • Setting up a pouring station utilizing jockey boxes and CO2 tanks (training provided)

  • Interacting with people in a bar/event setting

  • Speaking clearly and confidently to groups of people

  • Conducting effective promotions and maintaining great relationships with customers and accounts

  • Take and submit high quality photos encapsulating each event along with brief event recaps, gather e-newsletter sign ups and encourage social media following based on goals laid out for each event.

  • Break down promotional materials and return to Greenport Harbor sales team

  • Potential for additional work at Greenport Harbor brewery events held out at our locations in Peconic and Greenport Village

  • Must email availability and hours worked via Microsoft Excel spreadsheet on a bi-weekly basis.

What We're Looking For: 

  • Must have a High School Diploma.

  • Must be confident in Greenport Harbor Brand Styles and Brand Culture (training on this will be provided, but basic beer knowledge is a plus)

  • Romancing beers to include style, ingredients, pairings

  • Brewing basics, beer history and current trends

  • Minimum 1 year experience in customer service industry.

  • Excellent, clear language and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in an organized, communicative and detail-oriented manner.

  • Ability to interact well with others and conduct a fun, interactive, educational and successful promotion involving alcohol.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift and move cases of beer and objects up to 35 lbs.

  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend and display point of sale effectively.

  • Ability to set up and collapse a 10’ x 10’ pop-up tent.

  • Is at least 21 years of age

  • Valid driver’s license, registered and insured vehicle with clean driving record or otherwise 100% reliable means of transit

  • Can conduct his/herself professionally around alcohol and in a bar setting
